What is a Feis
Sue is very proud of our local competitions. It is because of her vision, hard work and commitment to Irish Dance that we have two highly successful competitions in the Ottawa area that bring over 1400 dancers to the area in a calendar year.
The Capital Feis which is held annually in May was first held in 1992 and registered 250 dancers. The Feis now registers over 800 dancers every year and, being held in downtown Ottawa, it allows dancers and their families to enjoy the world famous Tulip Festival right outside the front door of the Feis venue.
Feile Nollaig (Christmas Feis) was born December 1999 and has become a popular end of the year Feis for 600 dancers. Dancers and their families come not only for the competition but also to enjoy the beautiful Ottawa area at Christmas time.
